Why we exist
Every year, thousands of UK buyers hand over thousands of pounds for a car with hidden finance, a clocked odometer, or a write-off history they never knew about. The data to catch all of this already exists — it just isn't surfaced in a way that ordinary buyers can easily act on.
The big car check sites give you a wall of raw data and leave you to figure out what it means. Manufacturer websites tell you everything is fine. Dealer forecourts are not neutral parties. And the person selling on Facebook Marketplace would really prefer you didn't look too closely.

We don't make up reliability scores. Every data point in a PlateSure report has a traceable source.
Official DVLA data for make, model, tax status, MOT status, keeper count, first registration, and plate history. Sourced via the official Vehicle Enquiry API.
Every recorded MOT result, advisory, and failure going back to 2005. The most reliable independent picture of a car's maintenance history — and a clocking detector.
Outstanding HP, PCP, and lease finance checked against lender records. Write-off status checked against the MIAFTR database via MyCarCheck (CDL Vehicle Information Services Ltd).
Stolen vehicle status cross-referenced against the PNC at the time of the search. If a vehicle has been reported stolen, it will appear here.
Our model reliability scores are derived from statistical analysis of thousands of DVSA MOT records per model — actual failure rates, not manufacturer estimates.
Pricing guidance is calibrated against live AutoTrader listings for the specific model, mileage band, and condition level at the time your report is generated.
